Launch Renewable Energy Unit (random groupings)

A mini PBL for today! Solar cookers (Establish driving question and Rubric)

10:15 to 10:30 Break

10:30 to 10:50 Ed

Content Adventure #1 (Why math and science together and what are these adventures)

10:50 to 12:00 Matt

More PBL: go in-depth with one of his examples; planning forms, develop a driving question, verifying standards, rubric/assessments (random groupings)

(Tie solar cooker mini PBL into examples)

12:00 to 1:00 John

Lunch and discussion questions related to today’s mini PBL rubric. While we eat, each group presents their learning based on the solar cookers.

1:00 to 2:00 Matt

Poster-walk about driving questions (new random grouping)

(if time, participants in grade level bands - come with project idea, standards they want hit)
